There are no rhythms in algorithms Just a blunt set of instructions Occupying the heart of logical thought And action Algorithms are one of mankind's brilliant achievements Enabling the human species to surpass expectations And delve into the complex world of computation and artificial intelligence The human brain has done wonderful things But it also contains darkness in its faculties Capable of unimaginable atrocities Now, we can only hope for the story of mankind to end well The world of technology is already engorging itself with the delicious soup of algorithms Engaging itself in marvelous constructions and sometimes in unpalatable fantasies We are already entering the era of humanoids Artificial intelligence is a new chapter in the wilderness of scientific advancement Let's pray for common sense to prevail Let's pray for peace and love to reign Let's not make the same mistake twice We saw this excitement with new technology before Nuclear weapons are now threatening our very own existence Let's be cautious and learn from history Of course the capitalists are going to capitalize on every piece of the new technologies Unscrupulous fellas are also watching with interest, salivating for that piece of futuristic mania It is an exciting future Yet, it's a scary future Hopefully, the rhythms of life will continue to entertain us To fill us with the sacred sense of humanity And help us fulfil our mandate as a species We have a cumbersome task To protect not only mankind and nature But to safeguard Planet Earth Against mankind's dark side ©Kenneth Maswabi
