Armchair Adventures

My parents wanted me to be a star, but all I ever wanted was my books. My talents couldn't take me very far, and I was doomed to failure with my looks, yet I have read of places far and near, and I have learned of all the lakes and brooks. My books have taken me to the frontier, to lands of dragons, kings, and noble knight. I can be gone a week, a month, a year; my readings tend to give me much delight. I've had more pleasure than most anyone; I read by day and even more by night. My needs are few, and money have I none, but all in all, I've had a lot of fun.
