A penny-pincher was old Mac,
as frugal as could be.
To save a cent he'd walk a mile,
complete absurdity.
There came a day when he was ill,
in fact, approaching death.
His loved ones filled his bedroom up,
awaiting his last breath.
He squinted through his cataracts
and asked, 'Is my wife here? '
She gently squeezed him on the arm
and said, 'I'm with you, dear! '
Old Mac croaked out: 'How 'bout the kids?
Are all of them here, too? '
'Yes, Daddy, ' said the youngest one,
We're all right here with you! '
'I'm glad you're here', old Mac declared.
'That part is only right.
but if you're all in here with me,
turn off the kitchen light! '
