Wilford's Dream

Young Wilford had a special dream when he was just eleven; he had a view of many souls as they were nearing heaven. A great gulf stood where all must pass and drop their worldly gains. This was no easy task for most; their faces showed their pains. Among those many souls appeared a very aged man whose face showed agony and grief while gazing o'er the span. At last his heavy sack he dropped, then forward on he trod, his shoulders slumped, his eyes downcast as he approached his God. A few years later, Wilford moved into another town with father and his stepmother (who never wore a frown) . There on the street, young Wilford saw that old man from his dream! He recognized the man at once; how strange it all did seem! When that same man was dead and gone and silent as a mouse, they found a fortune buried there right in the old man's house!
