Mohawk on the warpath White man looking in the glass Fingers dipped in pitch Paint to mock the sovereignty of British rule The Sons of Liberty met in their Indian fashion, on the wharf United in one rebellious spirit Torches in hand, ready to do The indemnable deed Slipping past the sentries Ships made open to repair Taxation without representation An abominable slur on the Divine right of free men The tea dropped like so much Confetti into the drink A heady brew for the militant Mind, yet not a drop of blood Shed to sully their noble cause The abuse by the wealthy The privileged Those high and mighty lords No longer to be tolerated On these American shores Free men with free will A force with which to be reckoned In the dire circumstance of these Troubled times And woe to the red-coated foe Who dared stand in the way of Justice. ~ Laurence Overmire
