Slow To Glow

Slow to glow.
Then adapts.
Excited to flicker.
On a wick to burn quick.
Suddenly brightens.
With a flame that heightens.
Before a light that shines.
Finds less time.
Until that slow to glow,
Loses its brightness.
And what was there to shine.
No longer does.
To show an excitement.
Once to have heightened.
Burning out.
Taking the wick with it.
Exhausting to end its existence.
