Robins And Magnolias

Alone on a Saturday morning
I was drinking my coffee
As I stood facing the window
I stared at the maple tree with only its buds
And saw the robins flying in between the branches
But, in the corner of my eye, I noticed the first sign
Of the magnolias
They were ready to burst out of their pods
Blooming with a joyful colour of pink
I was overjoyed in the bounty of flowers
Then, I noticed a squirrel taking a piece of a magnolia
And with an angry look I gave, it ran away
But it was a sign of what will be...
Another beautiful spring
