The Funk

As I watch the others play I stay inside, not coming out For I am not in any mood to celebrate I am still mourning our love Though, people tell me to come And join this party I can't bring myself to do anything--but sulk I continue to watch the others Until the robins starting to appear I watch them intently wondering if I shall sing to them The Leonard Cohen song like I did with you It's time to unwrap the gifts Left over from the joy of Christmas I have been told Can't continue to sit here As my family is urging me out And join the fun I wipe my tears and take a deep breath Hoping to get out of the funk
