The Homeless Millionaire

There was a hole in his shoe
Where a bare toe was sticking out from it
The three-day-old beard was black
With a sprinkle of grey
As was his unwashed hair
He seemed he had been wealthy
But lost it all in wanting more
Because his suit was made by Ralph Lauren
Holy and dirty
It could been beautiful on him long ago
But even his smile was filled with holes
And his breath could have killed an army
He said that he could use a drink
And a cigarette
"Can I have a twenty to buy them? " he asked
I reached for my purse
And took out a hundred
As I said: You can have a meal on me too
