Coming Back To You

Your skin is a silken rainbow that emits light of one length to give a glorious golden glow. Secrets serenade your every bend, your toes and lips are the ends; in your kisses I gather pots of gold. They too, like leprechauns’, leave after the trade - as all illusions do- but daily I return - am I a fool? Therein I see Solomon’s blunder, in not knowing real from fake was his fall – the temple tumbled from a thousand kisses. Yours is as immense as ten – As David’s doing to the thousand, And all who is fallen is me - one. I fall into your eyes and on your lips, Just to be saved and made to stand tall In your heart, where I find richness of love. This wealth weighs more than fool’s gold can. It’s a white black-hole in my heart, That takes and gather, then to the giver gives. In this, I -the fool? - am proven wise; Kisses fade - they do, but the heart blooms, Knowing this I’ll keep coming back to you. Copyright © 2010 Leslie Alexis
