Our Contract

My soul rejoices Even as my flesh weeps For my Lady rightfully said that Her undergarment are hidden until we wed... O glorious day! But why do you so righteously evade me? You, jewel sweet; fixed behind laced tints I know you lay within, but I cannot see... O sweet nectar; let me taste! My tongue drains deep in gracious want Of the fruit that lays at the tip of the tree The biggest, most succulent of all fruits! O moon, make pace in your orbit of the earth! O Earth, make pace in your orbit of the sun! O Cesium, make pace in your leave of the land! O gracious giver, choice to satisfy my hunger…? Woman of virtue, You veil your face until the kiss And for this, I treasure you! The Lord’s appointed gift unto me, Second only to life and salvation is your love, Preserve you, the Queen’s pearl in virtue’s safe That until the fitting of the key, man would not see. Not till then would the shine be worn; Even as onto blood this agreement is marked. Then so it shall be. Woman of virtue, You veil your face until the kiss, And for this, I treasure you! And as my soul rejoices in your love; I keep my heart for none other than you, And my manhood I also appoint as my gift; Even as you give unto me the core of womanhood. Through love this union is formed, So on your word and heart I shall wait, But until then, I take pleasure in your lips, Whose honeys can keep me for a million years, And if I were to fumble, my love stands as brace That I may ne’er fall… Copyright © 2009 Leslie Alexis
