The Winter Dance

A light wind blew from the west, calmly, bringing with it the remnants of the storm. Vacuumed-dried snowflakes powder the ground, As children and their pups frolic in the snow, the hooves of yesterday’s horses slowly fill, Completely erasing the memory of our relived youth; For yesterday, my Love and I dismounted off the steed And as the kids do today we played our worries away. Snowballs thrown, on contact, dispersing our love. Joyfully we tumbled on Heaven’s white blanket, and As penguins do, we danced, forming winged angels That lasted but a moment; for we rolled in each other’s Arms, cuddled, and shared kisses; melting the snow where we lay.
