I was re-reading Dante's 'Hell' And I felt so well! All enemies are punished there, Smart cruelly to tell. From the hot circle, devils scourge Between the fifth and sixth - And in the ninth he'll reach the frost, Where Lucifer stands deep - Among the giants in the ice Up to his waist in it, taking the withers of the vice and ripping off their skin. The story is like endless wheel - And so convincingly, So with a smile I sometimes read These pages piercingly. It was too hard for me before So many foreign names, But now I'm getting just the point, experienced by fate. Who suffer there the most are those endowed with power Who sowed war and great discord, Their blee the worstest moan. Minaev started to translate With masculine hard rhymes, Lozinsky, on the other hand, female - the verse gets stuck. And Dante clearly described, And fast like movie goes, My conscience - is satisfied And easily soul soars! There souls know in advance And are predicting life, And Dante asked them many times, Got the right answers back. And Virgil often on his hand Takes Dante as a child, The demons scare, but both are led By the saint woman's hand - The care of the holy maid, To take the path that's right, So that he'll say to any age: One can't deceive the Light!
