Calm before the storm Posted on June 18,2024 by poetlou The calm before the storm It was a deafening silence in the darkness of the night. The only sound was my breathing as my heart took to flight. The darkness of the clouds covered the entire sky and only shadows stood where once the sun shined. The birds looking for shelter under the leaves of the trees as they felt the cool upcoming breeze. All the ground animals seeking a place to hide in the hopes that the storm would pass them by. The howling of the winds across the lands is something we all understand. The rains are coming to cleanse the earth and to give it a brand new birth , baptizing the plants, flowers and the trees followed by a gentle breeze. This is the calm before the storm.
