Marcantonio Flaminio, also known as Marcus Antonius Flaminius, was a Humanist poet, translator, and scholar of the Italian Renaissance. Much of his poetry was composed in Renaissance Latin, a form of Latin used by the Renaissance Humanists who sought to return Medieval Latin to its classical origins. Flaminio’s Latin poetry is collected in his Carmina, as well as throughout his other collections. He died in 1550.
