An Early Icy Morning

It was an early icy morning As I went out for a stroll I saw it was pretty obvious Mother Nature took her toll My face felt numb and tingly As I took my morning walk Grass was cold and stiff Ice claimed every single stalk Water tried to pour off fences But froze on its downward drip When I looked at a thermometer I realized how low it had dipped I saw a little cow decoration That was hanging on a line It had ice laced all around it It was frozen now in time The bird bath full of crystals Was white like a bowl of snow A place where not a single bird Would ever want to go It’s that time of year, folks For our winter icy storms You’d better bundle up well So you can stay nice and warm!
