Ah, those wanderin’ red dirt roads You never know where they will go As you travel ‘cross the country Finding little towns that you don’t know You wonder how they cropped up What made folks put down roots Why did they build a town in that spot A place to put their hats and boots So many things made a difference In why a town was built where it was One of the things that was needed Was water to help their cause The railroad made such a difference Once that mode of transportation grew Can you imagine not being able to travel The way we always are able to do? So this is why this quaint little town Called Bessie, Oklahoma was created And folks are mighty glad it was It cannot be understated They made sure Bessie had a church Worshiping was always a part of life Folks loved this town so much that they Settled down with their kids and wife!
