Children Of The Flag

I wish you could have seen the children Celebrate our flag in the parade They were dressed in brilliant costumes That their mothers no doubt have made Our American flags decorated the streets And decorated the children too Folks lined up to watch the parade And the children entertained me and you Wagons looked like miniature floats They worked so very hard to show How important our flag has always been Yes, they wanted everyone to know Little tricycle-riding kids so cute Wearing Uncle Sam hats on their heads You'll never see anything quite so adorable They'll be so tired that they'll fall in their beds It was truly an exciting day for everyone And believe me the judges had a hard task Because everyone was a winner Too bad the excitement couldn't last!
