Such a fun and funny show it was Hee Haw was so unique Had the best of country singers In tattered clothes and shoeless feet Their hats of straw all ragged A missing tooth left a hole Slang and bad grammar But great heart and lots of soul And then there was Minnie Pearl Oh how I loved that precious gal The friend you see across the fence With your hair wrapped in a towel Just an ordinary country girl Minnie with her new-boughten hat Ah yes, wish I’d known her She was genuine where I sat Just plain ole’ country folks Like watermelon, chicken and slaw One of the best shows ever created By the simple name of Hee Haw!
