It was vicious and nasty and angry It blew in without style or grace And in the wake of its passing Destruction you could visibly trace Homes flattened and left in a heap Of rubble with no concern at all For tornados have no feeling At times they slow down and stall But miracles happen as well And one of the most amazing things Are the trees that survive it all No matter what tornados bring After the storm has finished Though rugged with limbs gone They stand tall and proud Amongst debris on a lawn It’s astounding when you think How deep the roots are in the ground Yes, the amazing tree survival Shows trees are powerful and sound!
