For The Betterment Of Something

Let me unbridle myself entirely. And break free from these chains and bonds. Let me lean on my wings and fly westerly. On a breeze, and let my heart abscond— And leave the past and find true meaning. Let me disperse like a fog, a mist. and discover a rainbow still beaming let me fall in love and with my heart enlist In all these social galas where I might shine let the relics of the past burn charcoal for I am a kaleidoscope, a picture divine. If I change, I do it for the betterment of something, not to startle you. ~ I might marionette-like a fine red wine. Take on social responsibilities and more civic duties. Like I mean to be someone and be less byzantine Cut through the bureaucracy of these awful congruities. I might save the planet or even help somebody. I might become more public-spirited. And be the voice of hope instead of perfunctory And ring the changes no matter how difficult.
