Harlequin Moonlight

Inquisitive, like a child looking at the moon I see your harlequin face a hairsbreadth from being caught too soon your body broken turned into fishpaste looking up at the floating bread sucking with eyes blinking infrared fearing some barbed hook might harpoon then belly-rolling carp-like shrewd I see you leap for a passing damselfly dancing bait, you can no longer elude fearing not his reeling or you're breathless flapping gills that might calcify. You bite for the prize, forget to be petrified. Inquisitive, like a child gazing at the moon, he sees your harlequin face and is eternally mesmerized. The instant the surface ice water breaks and he is held underwater, kissed in your embrace.
