Wolves In Disguise

Altın Yaprak
They stood before me,
Engulfed in their vanity and pride—
Life-predator wolves
To devour me,
And celebrate me as their trophy!
I thought to myself…
I was in need of a dog to nurture—
And here is a wolf in disguise!
I had the love that was supposed to win
All prejudices, the vanity, and greed:
Invincible as it ever was,
Collapsed my dream…and here I fall…
No long now, I realised
That Love has stood its height:
In glamour, light, and humble still,
For no praise is needed on its summit;
To stand itself for what it is:
Untouchable by rules or mental tricks:
Splendour in crystal clarity:
Glorious, Magnificent: Divinity!
