A Day In The Garden

Luscious greenery growing strong Tending and nurturing with much care Before the harvest would be fair Next trip it will require a bucket to be brought along Blossoms of golden sun Vines racing to reach and stretch A pail of water I must fetch Pull a weed or two before I am done Sweet taste of homegrown Nothing better, love from my hands Growing stronger my dreams and plans From a small seed you were sown From a distance I can see Mr. Hopper, my friendly garden buddy Jumping past looking kind of muddy We exchange hellos and he spies a bug that zips by Must be hopping along to catch his dinner Have a wonderful day and eat hardy Protect our garden and don’t forget about the garden party The day we show our pride, the big winner Mrs. Robin lands near She’s searching in the fresh turned soil Looking like the character by Arthur Conan Doyle She finds her clue and sings a cheer The beauty and the peace Calloused hands but hopeful heart An over flowing garden cart A joy filled tasty feast
