He wasn't shot for being a thief Or for being a liar of a cheat, Though his lifetime was short and very brief He was kind and also sweet. He wasn't shot for being a bully Or for being a murderer or a terrorist, Though he never lived his life fully He wasn't biased or a racist. He wasn't shot for starting a fight Or for vandalizing someone's house, Hate he never did preach or did recite Nor did he attacked anyone's children or spouse. He wasn't shot for stealing or robbing Or for committing any form of assault or rape, Many people are now saddened and sobbing Because bigotry he couldn't escape. He wasn't shot for evading the law Or for selling drugs out back, I hopefully pray to God that this is the last straw; He was shot for being black. Randy L. McClave
