An Original

I may not be your first choice As I answer with a truthful voice, But, knowing me you will rejoice Because I am a great choice. I may not be rich and/ or taxable, But, indeed I am very valuable. I don't pretend to be someone that I am not I don't pretend that I am someone you sought, Knowing me you see what you got I don't pretend to be someone I am not. I am good at being truthful, caring for all to see, I'm good at being me. I might not be proud of my past The things I have said and done I wish not to last, Sadness and pain I have amassed I might not be proud of my past. I cannot change what I did yesterday, But, I am truly proud of myself today. I know that I am not at all perfect Don't we all have a defect, Sometimes I know that I am just a total wreck I know that I am not at all perfect. But, I am now truly proud of who I became, I seek no pity or blame. Take me for who that I am And remember, I am an original and not a scam, I don't care if you do or don't give a damn Take me for who that I am.
