Being Accountable

I fed the poor Until they were hungry no more, I happily gave them food to eat Which of course was my joyous treat. They ate until their belly was full They followed the golden rule, And they were so very happy to be fed Then to me other hungry people were led. I then gave them each a dollar bill They didn't think at first that it was real, They weren't expected to be treated kind But, all souls are intertwined. They didn't ask for another dollar or for food They put me in a thankful and a happy mood, Then I gave the poor man a Bible I said unto God I was liable. I gave a rich man a piece of bread He screamed saying that he wanted a bagel instead, So, he threw the piece of bread on the ground He then looked at it, as he does the poor; down. I then asked that rich man for a dollar He then began to scream and then to holler, Inside his wallet another bill he couldn't stuff Then he told me that he wasn't rich enough. He told me that he wanted to get richer and fatter He wants to daily eat lobster off of a golden platter, And he doesn't care if the next person starves Or if they freeze to death because they can't afford scarves. If it wasn't for tax write-offs he said he wouldn't help anyone He is a king and a poor person is just a sacrificial pawn, And then I gave the rich man a Bible Then I said unto him, unto God you are libel.
