The church that's just down the street Where families and parishioners once did meet, It is now sadly shutting down In our own very small town. Many members were becoming too political Thinking it's correct and also critical, To bring out their own personal political views Then into arguments and hate it spews. Jesus was hated by the church and the government Neither one seen him as heaven sent, Unto him crucifixion was his ultimate fate So, we must always separate church from state. That church didn't like the clothes that many did wear They didn't like their attire, And they didn't like the guests with a tattooed sleeve So, now they want those lost souls to leave. Then they hated that person because they were gay So, they asked them not to show up on Sunday, Even though you might think it absurd But, God wanted them to hear his word. Then when that church had the weekly church dinner They just wanted to feed the righteous and not the sinner, They knew not who truly needed to be fed With the poor and the needy they didn't want to break bread. The parishioners argued on the color the church was painted Half the parishioners believed the color wasn't sainted, Then that church was divided into half They all were looking for the sacrificial calf. Then after awhile all the church goers finally had enough and stop going The church then started shrinking and stopped growing, The pastor then placed a sign on the church's door CLOSED! Jesus doesn't live here any more. Randy L. McClave
