Coal And Oil

We dig and dig and turn up the soil Until we find both coal and oil, Then it is loaded onto trucks and into tankers Many will become richer than God, or bankers. People will fight and countries will have wars From what has been withdrawn from the earth's pores, The rich will celebrate and they will then feast At the remains found from the belly of the beast. Coal and oil will always pollute But, that fact or the need of it many will try to dispute, Blood, life and weakness will be the final cost For that energy for many, their humanity is lost. The greedy don't care for what is clean or free They don't want to help the poor, or either you or me, As long as they can earn another, or an extra dollar They won't listen to a humanitarian, or even a scholar. Answers was once given when man looked into the air And if he looked now, the answers are still there, If man moves forward he will not ever freeze He will find the sun again, and he will feel the wind's breeze.
