Firing Fireworks

The police came knocking on my door I was asked if I was having a war, The neighbor were upset with the fireworks I was lighting My neighbor thought the sparklers were frightening. The police told me that the neighbor was in tears And also crying with their fears, They were also hiding underneath their bed So, instead of talking to me they called the police instead. I was told that the neighbor was frightened and scared They were horrified to 9/11 they declared, They said it was 9: 00pm and it was time to go to sleep But, my fireworks was keeping them awake as they did weep. Then they complained about their pet's rights And how at 9: 00pm they always turn off their lights, Now my fireworks was keeping them all wide awake And we should worry about their babies for goodness sake. I wonder want they do on Independence Day and New Year's Eve From their house do they hide or leave, Because, that's when police say I can fire my fireworks Maybe that's the only time that they're not acting like jerks. So, the police came to my house They said that my fireworks I had to douse, My neighbors believed our country was too loud And my heart felt pride to our veterans should not be allowed. Randy L.
