Grateful And Appreciative

I grew up eating whatever I found on my plate Whatever my mother placed on it I always ate, I was never ever picky or choosy for the food But, I was hungry and I was never ever rude. There was no excuses for me to refuse the food to eat, As my dad would always say there's hungry people begging on the street. I wore the clothes what my parents could afford Many times they were hand me downs which were restored, But, I was happy and grateful for the clothes that I did wear Even though many times my clothes I had to share. Most of the clothes that I had was riddled with tears and holes, As was also the condition of my shoes soles. I grew up being happy receiving whatever I did receive I was the luckiest boy in the world I honestly did believe, Never did I go hungry and never did I do without And whatever I had, I never did show off or flout. This is how I learned to become caring and creative, That is also how I learned to be grateful and appreciative. Randy L. McClave
