Her Wedding Dress

She bought herself a wedding dress She wants to get married, That's her dream she does confess Over the threshold she wants to be carried. Though she has been married before I guess that one never counted, Being married again she does implore In that venue she pleads to be accounted. In her closet hangs her wedding gown Never has it ever been worn, It's unused and she's sad with her frown And she does constantly silently mourn. In her closet is also holds her other dresses And her slacks and jeans and skirts, How many she owns is anyone's guesses As she goes out and work and play and flirts. All women dream about their wedding day How beautiful it will be, And the words that they will always say That will forever change their destiny. Some women always will remain girlfriends They're never good enough to be wives, They're used for fun on the weekends They are just a franchise. Some women are meant to wed And some women you just want to date, Some women are old maids when their dead Some women seal their own fate. Her wedding dress she will never wear As she sits alone eating her cereal, At it still ponders and does stare Knowing why she's not marriage material. Randy L. McClave
