His Silhouette

I never met the man But, I heard that he was black, From no one did he ever ran; Integrity and bravery he did not lack. I heard that he was a preacher And he once spoke to his regime, Against violence he was a teacher; He had a great dream. I heard that he was a giant And many followers, followed Against bigotry and racism he was defiant; His words were not hollowed. He marched for equal rights His hopes and his wishes were fulfilled, After marches through the days and nights; Then he was killed. I read about his life But, he I have never met, I felt sad for his sorrow and his strife; All that I saw was his silhouette. Randy L. McClave
