History Will Remember

History will remember when the world stopped Very few people working, and the scared shopped, Flights around the world stayed bounded on the ground And parked cars everywhere were easily found. Buses and trains they did not run People didn't gather around for parties or events for fun, Schools and parks they were all also closed Children stayed inside their homes, as was proposed. Dogs though they were still all taken for their walk And only to them, did their owners talk, Nurses and doctors and paramedics walked and prayed They all knew of the virus and they all valiantly stayed. History will remember when there was an isolation In every city and state, and in every country and nation, We all stood together as we all are proud and strong In this world, we all do belong. We protected the vulnerable and the old and the weak When they were scared or hungry them we did seek, But, then history must also remember of the ones who did not care Even when they saw the helpless and the needy in thoughts and prayer. We will also remember the ones who were the hoarders They cared only about their own selfishness and orders, And the ones who didn't stay at home when they were told They were the ones, who helped to infect the weak and the old. History will also remember when the virus had left Leaving behind shadows and memories and bereft, People came out of their homes and again they hugged and kissed With affection and warmth that they all had sadly missed. People will remember when in our homes and on our balconies we sang Then upon every door there was a knock, and every doorbell rang, Churches and synagogue were all opened and filled once again We all then gathered as a family, to again to do battle with sin. Once again we could hear and watch our children play Again we looked upon each other and exclaim, "Such a Wonderful Day"! People and history will always remember this one Great War And how it brought us closer together, than ever in our history before. Randy L. McClave
