When you honor those with pride and valor Who showed their bravery and their galore, Who served our country with honor and pride And who had also suffered and who had patriotically died. For those who gave their sweat and blood For those who fought in the forest and on the seas and in the mud, And those who fought and suffered and died in the sand They did it for us, for our beliefs and freedom and our land. Though many knew that soon they be a goner For their scars, wounds and lost of life they received the Medal of Honor, Those are indeed the very brave women and men Who without a doubt would sacrifice themselves again. There are those who never served or fought in the military Their own weight is all that they want to carry, They never suffered or sweated or bled from pain or strife And they never ever would sacrifice their own life. They never in their life ever did sweat Never for anyone would they fight for without regret, For a stranger they would never stand up for And for a stranger they would never defend them in a war. They though will fight to obtain and scream and holler For another dime and another dollar, But, when they donate their millions so a candidate will succumb They are then presented the Medal of Freedom.
