My Child

I am a parent Which truth is inherent, My parents were one as well In me they still do dwell. I raised my child the best that I could All because I knew that I should, I placed a roof over his head And I gave him a bed. I made sure that he had food to eat And clothes on his back and shoes on his feet, I gave him everything that he needed Not what he wanted, even if pleaded. When he needed me I was always there I taught him not to step in the devil's snare, Manners and compassion to him I did teach Love and kindness to him I did preach. My child was always and still is my life Even with heartache, sadness, confusion and strife, My job wasn't to get him into Harvard university Getting him into Heaven, was my only priority. Randy L.
