My Christmas Mourning

I again woke up all alone On this very frigid Christmas morning, No one texted me or called me on the phone And of course there was no forewarning. The Christmas lights are still blinking and shining The mistletoe is still hanging over there, Empty dishes are on the table for later dining Still, no presents are beneath my Christmas tree to share. Christmas music has already began to play As I pour myself my very first Christmas drink, The mistletoe is still motionless in the doorway In the mirror, I give myself a happy wink. I anxiously look outside my front door Where I can see my neighbors visited by their family, Cars parked in their driveways at least four, maybe more In my driveway parked, there is only me. I excitedly go outside to check for packages and for mail I am joyfully wearing my new Christmas socks, No packages are on or was on my porch I can easily tell And again, there's no Christmas cards in my mailbox. My son is with his girlfriend and her family and their friends And my siblings are with their children on this December 25th, Later tonight, this Christmas finally ends And once again, I had no one to celebrate this day with.
