Our Parents

Our parents and grandparents fought in World War 2 As they proudly carried the flag of the Red, White and Blue, They stood for what all the Nazis stood against So, our parents went to Germany to kick in some common sense. Nazis believed in the ideals that free people are not So, against them we happily and patriotically served and fought, The Nazis stood for racism, bigotry, control and sin And of course I would happily fight against that, once again. We stood against communism and a dictatorship So, our parents and grandparents went to Germany on a hunting trip, They did not believe at all in the Nazis ideology Our parents knew it as a fairly tale, or a German Aryan mythology. The Nazis arrested Political opponents and trade unionists Along with social democrats who was on their lists, Blacks and Jews and homosexuals were on their lists as well So, were immigrants and other religious beliefs as history does tell. The Nazis told the Germans what they could watch, listen to and read As they stood for control, bullying, censorship, hate and greed, And as they went unchecked My parents laughed and mocked them as they all goose-stepped. Our parents fought and Killed Nazis with joy in their heart Hoping that never again this belief or cult could or would restart, As I now reminisce as I read the paper and drink my coffee Our parents didn't fight in WWll, for us to be nice to Nazis Randy L.
