Proposal Thought

I was going to ask you to marry me Adding another limb onto my family tree, Together we would plant mighty seeds Strong samplings, and not any weeds. But, like a tree you began to rot I saw and heard things that I never thought, And when a tree begin to show its leafs You instead, showed doubts and griefs. Unlike a tree your roots weren't strong I never once heard a happy birdsong, I thought then why would I really marry you You turned my green thumb, black and blue. A tree gives protection, relief and shade To a nest of birds a tree has never betrayed, On my family tree I wanted you to be a strong limb But, then I saw you going for a trim. A tree stands so majestically and tall It defies all weather, defying to wither or to ever fall, It spreads its branches to give comfort and stability You picked up your roots and went to a new locality. Of course I am not an Arborist I am a gardener on the short waiting list, My proposal question it became polluted And like a tree after a storm, you got uprooted. Randy L. McClave
