The Poor Server

I pity the poor waitress Wearing her short pants or a dress, As she must always be pleasant and also wear a smile Even when she's treated with humility and/ or guile. There she is working her butt off While at her some customers enjoy to scoff, Sadly when a customer treats her like dirt It's just because she is wearing a skirt. I pity the poor waiter As under all situations he does cater, By some he is seen and treated as a servant As I have been the observant. I see him as someone's father or brother or son And I always give respect to each and every one, But, still proudly and respectfully he does his job While from his dignity, many customers do rob. I pity the poor server As they work hard with speed and great fervor, As they race to each table to serve A compliment they all truly deserve. Sadly sometimes they get ridiculed, laughed at or mocked Because how they look, or how they talked, And when those customers complain and whine It's the same temperament as feeding wild swine. I pity the poor restaurant worker Truly I believe they all need a caseworker, From the ways that they are seen and treated And how they are lied to and cheated. Their job is to make our visit enjoyable and pleasant But, many treat them like a peasant, While their customers always complain and give a quip But, never wanting to leave a compliment or a decent tip.
