The Song

The angels might sing me a song Because deliberately, I have done no one wrong, Upon me there will be no burdens or weights When I walk through those pearly gates. No accusations will my Soul ever hear When our father and Lord God almighty is near, Nor will any pain and sorrows will I ever see That was deliberately, or callously caused by me. God will look at me from my inside No sins from God can any man ever hide, And what in my soul will he find there; A prayer. He will hear the people that I have prayed for The ones whose pain which I have also wore, The ones for whom I was always there He will hear about them, in my prayer. God will also see and feel the tears that I have wept When promises and vows were not kept, Then again at me he might look at see; Maybe, he will even again cry for me. God might then look at me his loving obedient child Knowing that no one have I ever deliberately defiled, Seeing the pain and suffering and heartaches that I've been though Because, God had told me to. The Angels might happily sing me a carol Because my soul will not be in any peril, My burdens and those weights will had been removed My salvation will had then been proved. I'll be walking happily through that pearly gate Everlasting life will joyously now be my fate, I'll rememberer on earth where I have walked and stood And the people that I have helped, because I cared and I would. No more tears for me to cry or shed Through trouble waters no more will I every tread, And the people who had deliberately done me wrong; They will not ever hear a song. Randy L. McClave
