The Wedding Dress

The wedding dress picked out at the store, It will now be sold Another brides story will be told, By me though it will never be wore. I said, "I wanted to be your wife", But, that dream will be no more The dress will be kept in my dresser drawer, With pictures and dreams that was our life. The trumpets will not roar, It can now be worn by another happy bride Who feels love and joy deep inside, Where the dress won't be tucked away in a drawer. Lay me down easy as I walk the floor, You forgot about my wedding dress It was meant for another woman you should confess, For us you did falsely swore. I hold the the dress one last time so I cried, As you now head for a distant shore Your promise to me you falsely swore, You jabbed, you won, you lied. Randy L. McClave
