They Are Smoking

Outside they are sniffling and sneezing Outside they are coughing and freezing, Because if inside I'd be teary eyed and chocking Because they would be smoking. If inside, my house and myself would smell like smoke Into my clothes and furniture the vapors would soak, Then I would be hacking and also coughing Then at me they would be uncaring and mocking. In my yard cigarette butts are everywhere They are even on the sidewalks and in the park as I stare, They are in the creeks and rivers and lakes and in the skies The smoke is even in our eyes. Smokers are getting cancer Not to smoke or give it up cold turkey is the true answer, But, they don't want to give up that nasty filthy habit Even on the Lord's day, the sabbath. Buying cigarettes takes up a lot of their wealth And smoking completely destroys their looks and health, And they are always tired and huffing They just keep on puffing. They pollute the air and they will always litter And they are all a toxic emitter, They none care that they smell and that they pollute And none look brave or tough or glamorous or even cute. What do I see when I see those uncaring smokers I see the devil's jokers, They want everyone especially their friends to smoke like them Then their living too will not be smoke free, but grim. In Heaven smoking will not ever be allowed There will not ever be a smokers only cloud, And if smokers miss cigarettes from their heat and taste and smell There is always Hell. Randy L. McClave
