Turning The Page

As I turn the page It reflects on who I am, I read about my own heritage And why that I care and give a damn. I inherited my accent And also my honor and pride, My past has became my present That came from blood and forefathers that died. It came to me by reason of my birth It became my soul's most proud inheritance I became the receptacle of my own true worth. I was born a proud and free American But, my heritage does not end there, I am a patriots great, great grandson Whose surname I now proudly wear. Now I know where came my rage And my temper and pride and honor, In my blood and soul I can feel the courage That had left family members a goner. My blood flows in many countries And I am part of a Nobel clan, In the mighty forest we are the sheltering trees That is where heritage began. Randy L. McClave
