The day is getting close
When I go under the knife
Right now my only concern
Is that it all turns out right
They're going to take my left knee
Give me a brand new one
Made of metal and plastic
Hopefully, once again I'll run
It's been a long time coming
As the pain is now unbearable
Thank goodness for modern medicine
As most parts are now repairable
The recovery will take a long time
Just like it did before
But I know that when I'm healed
My quality of life will be restored
