Lies

I remember people from my youth It seems they rarely told the truth It seemed to be lie after lie But I never understood why Even when there was no reason People lied to be pleasing I even heard lies from some friends I guess it justified an end I wondered how someone can lie Even while looking you in the eye What did they want to save me from Did they know what was about to come? Sure the times may have been grim But isn't lying still a sin? Now that I'm older I think I see Maybe they were protecting me From what I cannot really say But I can't change peoples ways But I will always believe That when you lie, you can't achieve 4-21-20/RjH
