Let all those
Who are still
Human,
Come to the Alter
Of Poetry
And pray!
That She should
Never leave us,
For if She did
That would be
The death of Feelings
Kindness and Love,
For only Poetry
Can express the inexpressible
That stays intact for centuries,
And that has our lonely hearts
Blessed, keeping from us,
Evil and vengeful thoughts
And giving us, instead
The Angels, sweet
And ever melodious, caress
In the form of poetic song.
