Dream Impressions

Dreams, one of the sudden pleasures of the night
Bestowed upon a weary traveler of day hikes.
When the auburn moon sinks
In the crater of ash clouds,
And Silvanus drowses among towering Oaks,
The Morpheus takes me along to venture in its world.
Absolved from the agony and strife of cold earth
The mind embraces the aroma of bright etheric hue.
Here I am with many loved ones.
We land upon places never seen before.
Spend time together in fun and games.
Their joy and laughter brightens the night.
Wandering around, the one image
That I remember distinctly
Is of a small, white horse figurine in a store,
Invoking the mystic imagery of the ancient world.
Is it Pegasus inviting me for a joy ride
Into his mythical world?
Or The Dadhikravan inciting me
Into the unknown journey of the Self?
I have a distinct impression of crossing a dark alley
With bumpy stones and potholes
To reach that beautiful, illuminated place,
So calm and serene, a subtle dwelling, I knew not
Exists, so close beyond my awareness.
To venture and enjoy the world of dreams
To cross over darkness to reach the light,
All one needs is to be in the grace of
The eternal Soul at rest in a mystical, and
Peaceful night, linked to the bright labyrinth
Of mind's exotic caves.
