Perhaps There Is A Hidden Blessing

Perhaps there is a hidden blessing In never having really been known as a writer No curses no hatred no envy No distortion of views falsification of what one believes Perhaps it is a special kind of blessing To have lived and written unknown Loving the writing for the writing's sake Loving Literature and longing to be a part of it Not being flattered or falsely praised And above all not being hated and cursed Alone and more alone Writing in quiet Going on to the end Trying to give to others Sad at having failed But nonetheless Not lost in desperation Happy at the life I have lived in writing
