Missing Paradise

I search for Paradise
in your eyes,
I no longer believe
my own lies.
I'm drawn down
to the core,
trying to find
what livings for.
The sun sets
in the West,
it's there where
we should seek our rest.
I look up
into the deep blue sky,
I see the birds
as they go flying by.
I wonder
where are they bound;
I wonder
where are we found.
I can't just fly along
any more;
I need to know
what's living for.
Will there
come a day,
when God answers
the words I say?
I can't pretend
anymore,
wondering
what's all this really for.
I stand at the rivers edge
gazing, to the other side,
with longing in my eyes,
and tears, that I can barely hide...
